Ministry of Awe - Immersive Art Experience
The Ministry of Awe is a massive, six-story interactive art experience and immersive installation in the heart of Old City, Philadelphia. Housed inside the historic 19th-century Manufacturer’s National Bank, it was created by renowned muralist Meg Saligman alongside more than 100 collaborating artists, actors, and designers, and opened to the public in March 2026.
Knabe Labs served as the lead AV vendor for the project, handling the installation of all lighting and sound throughout the six-story space. Working closely with Meg Saligman, we also executed projection mapping within the experience and have been brought on to build several of the animatronics that inhabit it.
A building full of independent artworks demands more than a one-size-fits-all system. We collaborated with Meg and many of the individual artists exhibit by exhibit, tuning the lighting and sound to accentuate each of their pieces, and worked alongside the show’s sound designers on speaker placement so every room delivers its soundscape exactly as intended.
For a Philadelphia-based studio, helping bring a landmark immersive experience to life in our home city, inside one of its great historic buildings, is exactly the kind of project we exist for.
