Gatlin's Mirror Maze - SOS Survival Game

Gatlin’s Mirror Maze in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee has entertained guests for over a decade. Gatlin’s wanted to give people a new reason to visit without changing what already made the maze work. Knabe Labs designed, built, and installed the answer: the SOS Survival Game, which we believe is the first interactive mirror maze of its kind.

It’s simple to play. Guests get an RFID wristband, pick a game at a kiosk built into a 16-foot lighthouse, and head into the maze to hunt for scan points. Each game changes what guests are looking for, and the solve for every game is randomly generated, so no two plays are ever the same and there’s always a reason to come back. Win, and the whole lighthouse comes to life with lights and sound: a victory show for the finishers that doubles as a pitch to everyone waiting in line.

Knabe Labs handled everything: the game design, the graphics, the software, the show control, the custom electronics and embedded programming inside every scan point. The system runs entirely on-site with no internet required, and a simple dashboard shows staff that every device is healthy.

We also built it to grow. The game launched with two modes, and new games, more scan points, and more kiosks can be added without rebuilding anything. Every play is tracked, from completion times to wrong turns and abandoned games, and that data is already helping us fine-tune the experience around how real guests actually play. If you run an attraction, a museum, or a themed entertainment venue and want an interactive layer your guests can’t get anywhere else, this is exactly what we do. Even inside a building made almost entirely of mirrors.
